3/15/09: Lynne Cheney falls ill; Guess the Huff users' responses (HuffPost: "Approved!!!")

.

When the Taliban attempted to murder Vice President Cheney in February 2007, the hateful comments by raging leftists on HuffPost's threads became national news. In summary, many of them expressed their remorse that the Taliban had not succeeded, and their view that the world would be a much better place if someone would murder Cheney (story
here ; see how it was a catalyst in HuffPost's decision to begin pre-moderating its news thread comments, after the hateful comments on that thread were exposed in national media, here).

When it happened again, on a news thread covering Nancy Reagan's hospitalization in early 2008, HuffPost publicly announced that it was going to be pre-moderating all its news threads, 24-7, again, explicitly to avoid a repeat of that embarrassment.

See the sordid history of HuffPost news thread comment moderation here.

So when Lynne Cheney was hospitalized on March 15, 2009, one might think that HuffPost would have learned its lesson about letting its raging leftists run wild, right?

Well, that person would be wrong.

Before reading the following comments, keep in mind that HuffPost's Comment Policy and its stated standards of conduct claim that the site prohibits comments that:

Interesting.... I would think the GOP would stop attacking Obama. Everytime they attack something bad happens to their thugs.

No mercy ... she sleeps with the enemy. Anything that causes grief in that man's life works for me.

If the a--hole she's married to had had the type of health care that most Americans have, he would have died a long time ago.

People...don't be so snarky. We don't have to like this woman, but these comments demean you. And it puts you at that awful level that would put you in that category.

Actually I don't mind being a little snarky.
Consider what the target has done to the rest of us.
