HuffPost uses staged photo to mimic, embolden jihadi hate against America

With obviously-staged photos and incendiary allegations like this, there can be little wonder why jihadists must love HuffPost - and have for a very, very long time.  Think about it: if the Taliban, Al Qaeda or ISIS hired a professional photographer to create an iconic anti-American propaganda picture, would the end result be much different than this?  Actually, no.

HuffPost: Who's more evil - the Australian jihadist, the CIA, Cheney or the U.S. military?

Huffington Post changed the headline of a source article, discussing the savage Australian jihadi murderer, to focus only on the contention that he comes from "a troubled past."  This stands in sharp contrast to its consistent practice of writing editorialized headlines that incite hate against those who combat jihadists, while eliciting sympathy for jihadis - despite its repeated claims that it is a nonpartisan, professional news organization.  As the world's #1 most-read online "newspaper," one can only speculate on the impact that HuffPost's bias and incitement is having on the public's perception and understanding of vital issues.

A quick briefer on Man Haron Monis, the jihadist preacher who perpetrated the murder and terror at the Lindt Chocolate in Sydney, Australia,  courtesy of the Sydney Morning-Herald:

• He was suspected in brutal murder of his ex-wife (stabbed 17 times and burned to death).

• He was recently arrested, and charged with perpetrating "22 counts of aggravated sexual assault, 14 counts of aggravated indecent assault, one count of aggravated act of indecency, one count of sexual assault and two counts of assault with act of indecency. The women were visiting him at Wentworthville where he was offering services as a 'spiritual healer'."
  

• He was convicted of using the Australian mail service to terrorize and harass the surviving family members of Australian soldiers who died while fighting his fellow jihadists, in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

• He openly preached murder against non-Muslims.

To normal, rational people and organizations, Monis represents the epitome of raw evil.

To the Huffington Post, however, Monis was merely a "troubled" individual, who deserved every one of its notorious editorial manipulations to shield him from being held to public account for his motives, actions and background - the exact opposite of what it routinely does to the CIA, the US military, and former Vice President Dick Cheney.

HuffPost rewrites the headline of its AP source story, in order to elicit sympathy for the jihadist -- but not his victims

On December 16, the day after Monis murder two hostages, and was killed in a shootout with the police, the AP wrote a detailed article about him and the matter, which it entitled "Horror over a deadly siege morphed into anger."  The opening sentence, from the Daily Mail (UK):

(AP) Horror over a deadly siege morphed into anger Tuesday as leaders of a grieving nation demanded to know how a man with a violent criminal history slipped through the cracks and ended up in the downtown Sydney cafe where he took 17 people hostage.

That, however, is not the headline that HuffPost chose to run atop its version of the AP story.  Instead, HuffPost rewrote the AP headline in a way that could only serve to elicit sympathy for this monster:

Does HuffPost always do these kind of moral somersaults and ethical gymnastics to protect those accused of perpetrating atrocities?  The answer is yes, and no.  Yes, when it is Muslims, and particularly Islamists, who are the accused.  A few examples:

• HuffPost gives super-coverage to "homesick" jihadi - and continues ignoring victims of jihad

• HuffPost shills for Al Qaeda: The "gentle face" of the terror group

When the accused is the CIA, the U.S. military, Dick Cheney, conservatives, or its perpetual enemy, Israel, however, HuffPost does the exact opposite: it holds nothing back to incite hatred against them, even when it knows that the basis of its "news" stories is completely bogus.

Examples of HuffPost's relentless efforts to craft inflammatory headlines to smear those who are dedicated to protecting people from jihadists, and their Islamist enablers

A few examples - starting with the headline HuffPost published a few days ago, regarding CIA Director John Brennan.  While HuffPost whitewashed the Austrlian jihadist as merely "troubled," it claimed Brennan presided over a reign of "depravity and incompetence," in the context of the hyper-partisan Democratic report on CIA interrogation tactics:

To punctuate this theme, on December 9, the same day that the Senate Democrats released their report, HuffPost depicted those who wear America's uniforms to sadists, who took personal delight in inflicting pain on innocent victims:

HuffPost published no defenses of the CIA --- such as the scathing article by former Democratic Senator and combat veteran Bob Kerrey.  Instead, on December 16, HuffPost decided that the latest vulgar personal attack by Jonathan Liebowitz (Jon Stewart) against former Vice President Dick Cheney's defense of the CIA was worth a front-page headline:

That incendiary headline must have somehow slipped past Arianna Huffington's absolute prohibition on personal attacks and incivility at HuffPost: "If you're looking for the usual flame-throwing, name-calling, and simplistic attack dog rhetoric, don't bother coming to the Huffington Post."

This is a continuation of HuffPost's pattern of using the most inflammatory language possible, against those who wear America's uniforms.  For example, when the U.S. military was falsely accused, several years ago, of having fired on a group of Iraqis who had just fired at them several minutes before, HuffPost (falsely) accused American soldiers of having committed "collateral murder":

That apparently also somehow slipped through Arianna's absolute prohibition on "inflammatory claims and conspiracy theories"... presumably, especially when it turns out they're based on lies.

But HuffPost's willingness to write inflammatory smear headlines to incite hate against people isn't limited only to counter-jihadis; it even extends to athletes it doesn't like - such as one whom it labeled (in a "news" headline) as "a terrible human being":

And yet, in regards to a self-identified militant Islamist who perpetrated dozens of sexual attacks on women, and murdered and maimed in the name of jihad, HuffPost decided to manipulate a headline to indicate only that he comes from a "troubled past."

Is ISIS now writing HuffPost's inflammatory headlines?

SEE UPDATE AT END: Barely twelve hours after HuffPost decided to depict Sen. Rand Paul as a murderous warmonger, it backtracked when President Obama said effectively the same thing --- and as usual, made him look like a towering hero.

HuffPost might as well be letting ISIS write its headlines.  Here's what it published as its splash headline on the evening of Sept. 3, 2014:

What, exactly, is the context for this pathetically decontextualized headline?  There is none -- except that it claims Sen. Rand Paul wants to bomb someone, thus casting him into the role of a murderer -- just as HuffPost does to anyone (especially Israel) who advocates standing up to Islamist sociopaths. 

The story page is here.  Turns out HuffPost based the headline on a statement that Sen. Paul made to the AP, regarding ISIS:

"If I were president, I would call a joint session of Congress.  I would lay out the reasoning of why ISIS is a threat to our national security and seek congressional authorization to destroy ISIS militarily."

That's it?  That's all that Sen. Paul said?  So why didn't HuffPost just write a headline that reflected that reality?  Because that would have meant deviating from its now-congenital whitewashing of, and propagandizing for Islamist murderers, including by painting the U.S. armed forces as a gang of murderers -- just as ISIS does, and which is explicitly stating as justification to behead U.S. journalists.  

Lest we forget some of the myriad incidents of HuffPost's bias and incitement of hate against the U.S. military, on a false or grossly decontextualized basis -- which were documented in Huff-Watch's special report, "Want to 'give back' to U.S. soldiers, Arianna? Stop libeling and dishonoring them":

Huff-Watch has documented for years the fact that HuffPost is the most reliable, shameless online Western PR shill for Islamist terror groups including Hamas, Al Qaeda and Al Shabaab. 

Now, apparently, HuffPost has apparently decided to add ISIS to its roster of unofficial "clients" -- and allow it to write its inflammatory, incitement-based headlines, to boot. 

As if all this isn't disturbing enough, remember that it was none other than Arianna Huffington, HuffPost's Editor-In-Chief, who had the audacity to lecture Fox News against the use of "inflammatory claims" (emphasis added):

Sept 4, 2014 update, 11:30am: President Obama echoes Sen. Paul's stance on ISIS; HuffPost depicts him as conquering hero, after quietly removing its attack on Sen. Paul

Sometime between 10:30pm last night, and 11:30am today, HuffPost completely removed its inflammatory headline article against Sen. Paul, and replaced it with this:

The story page is here.  So what did President Obama say, specifically, that caused this dramatic change?

"Our objective is clear, and that is to degrade and destroy ISIL so that it's no longer a threat," President Barack Obama said Wednesday during a visit to Estonia, using an alternate acronym for the Islamic State. He later headed to Wales for an annual meeting of leaders of the NATO military alliance.  Separately, during an appearance in Maine, Vice President Joe Biden declared that the U.S. will pursue the militants to "the gates of hell."

Wow!  Just imagine what HuffPost would do to any non-letist politician that dared to espouse such warmongering words!!!  Oh, wait...

Lest you think there are Grand Canyon-sized double-standards at play here, let's refer back to what Arianna has to say about HuffPost's "journalistic" standards and "nonpartisanship":

HuffPost ignores white Marine beaten into coma by gang of African Americans upset over Michael Brown

HuffPost ran five straight days of top-line coverage to elicit sympathy for a "homesick jihadi."

It gave front-page splash headline treatment to an allegation that a Palestinian filmmaker who was detained for several hours at LAX.

And it ran two straight days of front-page coverage to elicit sympathy for its female staffers who allege (without any proof) they were spoken to unkindly by men on New York streets.

U.S. Marine Ralph Weems, IV

Yet HuffPost has completely ignored the story of a white U.S. Marine, Ralph Weems IV, who was beaten into a coma by a gang of African Americans in Mississippi, allegedly because they were upset over the Michael Brown death.

The first version of the story was reported three days ago, on August 23, by WCBI, the local CBS-TV affiliate.  An excerpt:

A West Point man undergoes emergency brain surgery following a serious beating at a West Point restaurant. Ralph Weems the IV was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo following the assault at the Huddle House between 1 and 1:30 a.m., Saturday.Friends and relatives tell WCBI that Weems and a friend, David Knighten, were at Waffle House, and got into an argument with as many as seven men. It involved some racial slurs.

The story was then reported by the AP - HuffPost's most-cited news source - at 12:07am on August 25, and described Weems' injuries as "life-threatening."  An excerpt:

West Point police said a man received life-threatening injuries in what they are investigating as an aggravated assault at a restaurant.  Ralph Weems IV, who was injured early Saturday, was in fair condition Sunday at North Mississippi Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Genie Causey said without elaborating. [...] 

A relative, Bradley Barnes of Madison, told The Associated Press by telephone on Sunday that his brother-in-law was in a medically induced coma following brain surgery. "They're going to try and wake him up tomorrow and see what damage was done," Barnes said, describing Weems as a 32-year-old former Marine who had served in Iraq.

David Knighten of West Point told AP earlier by phone that he and Weems had gone to a Waffle House early Saturday. He said a man waved him over outside the restaurant and told him politely that people were upset by the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and it wasn't a safe place for whites. When he went in, he said, Weems was inside and was arguing with other men.

USA Today is covering the story.  Many other news sources and blogs are covering Weems' plight.

So how much coverage did HuffPost give to Weems' beating? 

None.

How do we know?  Just do a search at HuffPost of the name "Ralph Weems."  Three days after the story broke, the search results were zero, zilch, nada.  This mirrors HuffPost's complete blackout of coverage concerning the plight of Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, another U.S. Marine who has been languishing in a Mexican jail for nearly six months.

So what types of stories did HuffPost decide were more newsworthy, and deserving of front-page coverage, than what happened to Ralph Weems? A sampling, from August 26 - starting with the second straight day of HuffPost cheering on its front page a fat girl who wears revealing clothes:

 

 

HuffPost is pretending it doesn't know about Ralph Weems - yet somehow, magically, it is able to find a "news" story about a squirrel who passed out after eating - and plaster it on its front page?

If you still haven't reached the limits of outrage, here's a little more: This is what Arianna Huffington said on August 21 about HuffPost's coverage of the Michael Brown incident, and what makes the "newspaper" that she oversees and edits better than its competitors (emphasis added):

We also know that what the media choose to shine a light on matters. The phenomenon of copycat crimes and the contagion effect of suicides are well established. So perhaps we'd see more than glimpses of our better angels if the media decided to include them as the vital part of the story that they in fact are. I'm not asking for depictions of utopia or a Pollyanna filter on the news. At The Huffington Post we're relentless in our coverage of corruption, injustice, poverty, joblessness, inequality and racial discrimination, but we are equally relentless in giving our readers and viewers a full and accurate idea of the entire human story. [...]

Giving only one side breeds cynicism and a sense of hopelessness. The divisions and inequities exposed in Ferguson are real and formidable.[...] And we are definitely going to keep the focus on Ferguson long after the national spotlight dims -- both on the conflicts and divisions and on the acts of compassion and giving that bring the community together.

Will anyone in a position of influence ever hold Arianna Huffington to account for HuffPost's pathological bias and incitement against the U.S. military, and Israel, and Jews?

Doubtful. This is just one more example of the fundamental clash of the lies that Arianna Huffington has been telling the public, and her advertisers, since HuffPost launched in 2005 --- that it is a "nonpartisan" newspaper, only interested in "ferreting out the truth" in journalism --- and the reality of HuffPost is, and does, under her direction:

HuffPost ignores U.S. Marine jailed in Mexico - but weeps for traitor, terrorists, and Palestinians

On March 31, 2014 U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi accidentally crossed into Mexico, due to a confusing series of road signs, on his way to San Diego.  Mexican officials refused his request to turn around a few hundred feet over the border, and instead threw him in jail, where he has remained ever since.  The reason: Tahmooressi, who was essentially living out of his truck, was carrying all of his possessions, including three firearms, which he openly admitted to Mexican officials. 

An Afghanistan war veteran suffering from PTSD, by all accounts Sgt. Tahmooressi served honorably, and was relocating to San Diego to obtain the mental health counseling that had been prescribed to him.  Since his incarceration in Mexico, however, Tahmooressi has reported that his jailers have beaten him, stripped him of his clothes, chained him to a bed, and threatened to rape him.

So how many stories did the Huffington Post, the world's #1 most-read online "newspaper," publish about Sgt. Tahmooressi and his plight and allegations, in the nearly three months since he was taken captive by Mexico?   

Zero - and you can prove this for yourself.  If you search "Andrew Tahmooressi" at HuffPost, you will find a list of returns - all of which have "huff-wires" in the URL, meaning that these were items that were inserted into HuffPost's news feed, but not published - least of all on its front page, or any prominent position.

Contrast HuffPost completely ignoring Sgt. Tahmooressi to the sympathetic coverage it has given to a convicted U.S. traitor, to Palestinians, and even Al Qaeda

As the following facts demonstrate, were Tahmooressi anything other than (a) an American combat veteran who honorably served, and (b) a gun owner, it would have given his plight front-page coverage.  Consider the following facts:

(1) HuffPost gave front-page splash treatment to Michael Moore's allegations that a Palestinian filmmaker was detained for merely a few hours at LAX:

(2) HuffPost gave front-page splash treatment to convicted traitor PFC Bradley Manning when it became difficult to prove whether or not his treason led to actual deaths of U.S. service members or our allies:

(3) HuffPost gave Manning a front-page editorial to explain why he was changing his name, and had changed genders - and left this editorial posted on the front page for four days:

(4) HuffPost gave five days of top coverage to a "homesick jihadi" - yet ignored the a U.S. military hero who was given the Medal of Honor during the same time period:

(5) HuffPost gave sympathetic front-page coverage to a "news" story that presents "the 'gentle face' of Al Qaeda":

These are not isolated incidents, or "accidents," as HuffPost likes to claim when it is caught in embarrassing situations.  Rather, they are par for the course in the "news" room that is commanded by the woman who reportedly claimed she is "the future of journalism."

Note also that by HuffPost's own admission, amidst this "heartbreaking" ordeal, the "reporter" overtly threatened the court, screaming, "They will pay for this! I promise they will pay for this!":

Note further that as documented in a detailed report, HuffPost has a long, intense relationship with Al Jazeera, in which it has relentlessly worked to get the terrorist-celebrating "news" network into millions of U.S. homes.

Finally!!! HuffPost identifies the "monsters" among us

Yes, it's true: on March 9, 2013, HuffPost --- the world's #1 most-read online "newspaper" --- decided it is going to finally call out the "monsters" among us.

So who are these "monsters"?  

The leaders of Hamas, who recently bragged that it's opened kiddie-terrorist-training academies?  Nope.

HuffPost completely ignored that, so it could give top-line coverage to "news" stories it decided are far more important, such as a starlet who claims  "My vagina smells like roses!," and "Hitler's toilet."

The Hamas-affiliated savages who slashed the throat of three-month-old Hadas Fogel, and murdered her family?  Nope.

HuffPost buried then quickly removed the story of this attack, and never identified or provided pictures of the victims.  Nor did it publish any stories regarding the murderers' claim they are proud of what they did.  Instead, HuffPost decided that "news" stories such as "Eva Braun and Hitler's private moments" deserved seven straight days of top-line coverage.

The American jihadi who, since 2006 has been part of an Al Qaeda-affiliated terror gang that's notorious for kidnapping, raping and murdering Somali women and children? Nope.

HuffPost instead decided to give him five days of top-line coverage, because he claims he's "homesick."  During the same time period, HuffPost gave zero top-line coverage to a U.S. soldier who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his super-human heroism during an intense firefight with jihadis.

The Hamas-affiliated savages who organized the bombing of a Sbarro pizzeria in Israel (killing 15 teenagers and injuring 130 other civilians) -- one of whom is now the terror-endorsing "Oprah" of the Middle East??  Nope.

Instead of giving any coverage to the plight of one of the murdered children's parents to keep these savages in prison, amidst Hamas's demands that they be released, HuffPost gave top-line coverage to "news" stories it decided were far more important, including "Man arrested for bestiality claims prostitute transformed into donkey," "Man vows to masturbate in every NYC Starbucks bathroom," etc.  Details in Section 3 here.

Adolf Hitler?  Nope.  (A HuffPost editorial even claimed Hitler was less "evil" than George W. Bush.)

The rationale of the editorial that HuffPost decided to publish: because Hitler and "the world’s worst fascist dictators at least meant well... (T)hey honestly thought were doing good things for their countries by suppressing blacks/eliminating Jews/eradicating free enterprise/repressing individual thought/killing off rivals/invading neighbors, etc."

So if those individuals don't qualify as "monsters" to HuffPost, who does?

Why, US soldiers, of course. 

Specifically the ones who humiliated Iraqi prisoners at Abu Grhaib, by (gasp!) taking pictures of them with panties on their heads.
