On August 1, 2009 HuffPost ran the following story teaser on its front page:
The teaser linked to this story page:
Given the disparities noted here, here in the way that HuffPost uses photos to make Israeli PM Netanyahu look sinister, while making Obama and Ahmadinejad appear friendly and noble, what other pictures could it have chosen of Hamas's terrorist leader, Khaled Meshaal, to run with this story?
Any of the above would have been far more fitting, given Hamas's glorious words of peace, diplomacy, tolerance, diversity, inclusion and understanding:
- "We will not rest until we destroy the Zionist entity" (January 2009)
- "Suffering by fire is the Jews' destiny in this world and the next... Therefore we are sure that the Holocaust is still to come upon the Jews" (April 2008)
- "Jews are a people who cannot be trusted. They have been traitors to all agreements. Go back to history. Their fate is their vanishing." (April 2008)
- "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it... There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors." (Hamas charter, 1988)
Answering The Libels for detailed videos and articles discussing Hamas's barbaric campaigns of terror (including against Palestinian Muslims) and child-indoctrination.
"PallyWood" - An introduction: An inside look at the Palestinian propaganda machine, and how certain Western "news" organizations blindly accept whatever media it provides them
Given all the above, we assume Hamas couldn't be happier with the coverage (and in some instances, lack thereof) it has received from HuffPost.
ADDENDUM: A few HuffPost users picked up on the irony of the picture HuffPost chose to run with this story:
odd, the guy in the photo for this article looks an awful lot like George Clooney in Syrianna?

Why not negotiate with George Clooney's double? Entertainment Tonight has half their vacuous show to fill up. :)
