6/7/10: Holocaust refugees = militant Islamists? Apparently to HuffPost, YES.

.

Q) When are Holocaust survivors and militant Islamist murderers morally equal?

A) When HuffPost says they are, pal.

Just when one might have thought HuffPost's moral depravity and jihadist-appeasement over the "Peace Flotilla" (1, 2) could sink no lower... along comes its decision to publish this glittering jewel of insane equivocation:

From HuffPost's front page --- in its news (not blog) section --- on June 7:

Gaza Blockade: When The Shoe Was On The Other Foot

Excerpt (emphasis added):
ON THE high seas, outside territorial waters, the ship was stopped by the navy. The commandos stormed it. Hundreds of people on the deck resisted, the soldiers used force. Some of the passengers were killed, scores injured. The ship was brought into harbor, the passengers were taken off by force. The world saw them walking on the quay, men and women, young and old, all of them worn out, one after another, each being marched between two soldiers...

The ship was called "Exodus 1947". It left France in the hope of breaking the British blockade, which was imposed to prevent ships loaded with Holocaust survivors from reaching the shores of Palestine. If it had been allowed to reach the country, the illegal immigrants would have come ashore and the British would have sent them to detention camps in Cyprus, as they had done before. Nobody would have taken any notice of the episode for more than two days.

Read the whole story: Avnery News

Yes, dear reader, HuffPost has now sunk to the point of publishing an article that morally compares the status of jihad-chanting, militant Islamists (and their leftist brethren) who ambushed and attempted to murder Israeli soldiers, while disguised as "peace activists"...

... to
Holocaust refugees.

And what is "Avnery News"? Have you ever heard of it? Neither had we. But oh, what we found out:

It is a blog. Published by one person, Uri Avnery, a radical leftist and Islamist apologist, masquerading as a (wait for it...) "peace activist." One example of Avnery's insanity:
(Gilad) Shalit wasn't kidnapped, by Uri Avnery, Haaretz, December 10, 2009
Excerpt:
It was the Israeli government that coined the term "kidnapped soldier," and the media obediently joined the chorus. Gilad Shalit has been a prisoner of war for 1,205 days. The behavior of Israel's governments, politicians and generals who are responsible for this scandal evokes outrage and anger in every reasonable person, not just combat soldiers.

Note that Avnery doesn't blame Hamas for kidnapping Shalit, or for holding him hostage for four years without letting any relief agencies see him. This is an illegal act, about which HuffPost, and radical leftist "humanitarians" are deafeningly silent. Instead, Avnery blames Israel for Shalit's plight (is there anything for which the radical left doesn't blame Israel?). But hypocrisy and moral depravity are part and parcel of being a member of the modern radical left, as much as jarring Israel-hatred and appeasement of militant Islamism.

Well done, HuffPost. Now, perhaps you can move on to something of comparative moral depravity... say, likening the murderers of Emmett Till to the soldiers who raised the flag at Iwo Jima? How about comparing Charlie Manson to Audie Murphy?

Will HuffPost now claim, "Hey,they're both mass murderers!!!"?
(L)
Charlie Manson, mass-murdering, neo-Nazi psychopath. (R) Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier in World War II, celebrated by rational Americans and the U.S. military for his almost super-human courage and ingenuity.
We anticipate that any minute now, HuffPost will publish a "news" article claiming that neither of these men is better or worse than the other, because after all, "they both killed lots of people.
"

Except neither of those suggestions has quite the same punch, and won't win you as much accolades from the tres' chic Islamist-appeasement radical left, as an article such as this, which likens Holocaust survivors to murderous Islamists.

This all would not be so troubling if it weren't for the fact that HuffPost is now the #1 most-read blog in the world, and a top ten U.S. "news" site --- with an estimated 135,000+ monthly readers coming from Iran and Pakistan (see Section 4.3 here).

If you are as concerned as we are about HuffPost's blatant anti-Semitic bias, and would like to make your voice known to its management (politely, please), here's how.
