ITEM 4: HuffPost gave top-line coverage to a rumored investigation of Christine O'Donnell --- but downplayed and ignored arrests of, and investigations into militant Islamists for threats of mass-murder.
On December 29, HuffPost devoted the second-to-top position on front page to this story about rumors of an FBI investigation into financial transgressions of failed Senatorial candidate Christine O'Donnell. HuffPost left it here for a good portion of the day:
HuffPost completely ignored, however, this story of a 46 year old American woman who is under actual investigation for involvement in militant Islamism, and for urging the murder of American soldiers --- who was exposed with the help of The Jawa Report:
Indiana Grandmother, a Muslim Convert, Being Investigated for Possible Terror Link
A 46-year-old Indiana grandmother is under investigation for her possible ties to suspected and convicted international terrorists, FoxNews.com has learned. Muslim-convert Kathie Smith, 46, a U.S. citizen living in Indianapolis who has blogged about her granddaughter, last year married a suspected German jihadist, and has been flying back and forth between the U.S. and Germany as recently as two weeks ago.
A pro-jihadist video featuring Smith and her husband – alongside photos of members of the Islamic Jihad Union charged with plotting failed terror attacks against U.S. targets in Germany -- is being investigated by the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center. The center is a counterterror intelligence clearinghouse staffed by law enforcement officers from local and federal agencies, including the FBI and Department of Homeland Security.
In the nearly six-minute video under investigation, Smith and her husband, known online as Salahudin Ibn Ja'far, 28, appear posing and hugging and holding weapons interspersed with photos of known and suspected terrorists and assorted jihadist propaganda, like an Awlaki sermon album cover.
Also on December 29, Denmark arrested what it described as five "militant Islamists with connections to international terror networks" for plotting to attack the newspaper that printed the Mohammed cartoons several years ago:
Five People Arrested In Denmark Terror Probe
(SkyNews) Five people suspected of planning a terror attack against a newspaper that printed controversial cartoons about the Prophet Mohammed have been arrested. Four of the men were arrested in Denmark and one in Sweden. Danish and Swedish authorities said they had worked together to stop the planned attack on the headquarters of the Jyllands-Posten newspaper.
The Danish Intelligence Agency PET said that three of the four men it arrested were Swedish residents who entered the country on Tuesday night. [...] Jacob Scharf, head of PET, said the arrests had stopped "an imminent terror attack," adding that the suspects had allegedly planned to "kill as many people as possible."
He said that several of the suspects could be described "as militant Islamists with connections to international terror networks."
Did HuffPost place this story on its front page? Nope. It published the story on top of the World page --- where the only way a visitor to the site would see it is if he or she went looking for it, and clicked on the "World" link (see blue bar):
So what stories did HuffPost decide were more worthy of positioning on its front page on December 29 than these arrests and investigations? (Especially considering the fact that they followed so many other attacks and threats by militant Islamists, all over the world, in recent days?)
Here's a sampling (clockwise, from top left): (1) Epic fails; worst drinking trends; (2) Woman dies after sex fantasy accident; a little girl talks about Satan; (3) A dog that got its head stuck in a cinderblock wall; best new foods of 2010.
Analysis
Here we have two legal actions against militant Islamists, one of whom is American born convert to Islam that is law enforcement's worst nightmare: a Caucasian female who fits none of the "profiling" paradigms. And here we have the #1 most-read blog on Earth, which has repeatedly claimed it is nonpartisan, and says it is dedicated "to ferret[ing] out the truth, consequences be damned” --- yet which devoted its front page to nonsense, while ignoring or burying those stories. This profound disconnect is a continuation of the very reasons why Hamas and other militant Islamist groups have such a favorable view of HuffPost.
Here are some more reasons why militant Islamists may feel great love for HuffPost: while it pathologically ignores and buries their barbarous murders and attacks, and the victims left behind, it gives front-page treatment to an endless variety of anti-Jewish, anti-Israel stories of zero consequence (click headlines for full documentation):
HuffPost covers for a reporter's incompetence* in Israel (*or worse)
HuffPost's prominent teaser headline claimed that a "seasoned" reporter was assaulted by ultra-Orthodox Jews at a demonstration in Israel. Why would it choose to use this word --- and is the story even true? A look at the story "behind the story" that a first-year journalism student could determine undermines every claim in it, but which HuffPost failed to cite.
HuffPost twists crime story to focus on irrelevant Jewish aspect; users unleash anti-Semitic hate (HuffPost: "Approved!!!")
This article documents the fact that HuffPost (1) falsely manipulated a news story headline in a way that could only serve to incite and reinforce anti-Semitic stereotypes and hatred, (2) decided to publish explicitly anti-Semitic hate comments in response to this incitement, and (3) protected the perpetrators of such comments.
HuffPost uses a fake picture to further humiliate, smear a gay Israeli ambassador
Actual photos of an Israeli ambassador caught in an embarrassing situation were readily available on the Web. Instead of using them, however, HuffPost chose to invest its time to dig up and use a photo that was not of him, and which could only serve to further humiltate him --- and as an extension, Israel.
Much, much more here.

Update, Dec. 28: HuffPost also completely ignored this story about Saudi Arabia's killing of another militant Islamist who was dressed in a burqa, as female.
Update, Dec. 31: We noted here how HuffPost found and decided to run on its front page a "news" story from Sweden's equivalent of an anti-Semitic National Enquirer, alleging that Israeli soldiers murder Palestinians to "harvest their organs" --- even the "journalist" who wrote the story admitted --- in the story --- he had "no idea, no clue" if the allegations were true or not.
Yet HuffPost completely ignored this report, by an actual Swedish newspaper --- reported by The Jawa Report, today --- that documents the savage histories of the Swedish militant Islamists who were plotting to blow up a newspaper there. Instead, HuffPost is devoting its front page today to covering stories it judged to be of far greater international importance... like Cute Kitten Plays Foosball, Russian Spy Anna Chapman Reveals Personal Secrets, and Endangered Species Condoms -- Awesome Or Absurd?
